NOTE: UP Diliman is my school. It stands for the University of the Philippines (Diliman campus).
Ummm...the Shopping Center or SC as we fondly call it is not exactly very elusive. [This is simply an excuse to use that word~~hehehe, I just love being 'elusive', hehehe.]
It is sort of this small food, school supplies arcade in school.
SC is photocopying heaven for students [like me] who refuse to buy the expensive books needed for uni but still wishes to have his or her own copy.
NOTE AGAIN: I am not promoting the photocopying of books. Photocopy books at your own risk. You never heard anything from me, hehehe.
Anyway, I went to SC to bind the thick notes.
After stating my specifications...
Me: How much does it all cost?
Photocopy girl: 60 each. Since you have 4 job orders, 240 Pesos.
Me: 240 PESOS!!! So expensive! I am giving you business with FOUR job orders already. Give me discount o~~
NOTE NOTE AGAIN: 240 Pesos is not really expensive considering the standard of living in the Philippines is not that high.
BUT! Think of it this way, you can buy a decent meal with 60 Pesos already--not the best, but decent.
So, I think I am going to reinstate myself, 240 Pesos IS expensive.
Photocopy girl:You ask me to do so many things already. [Enumerates this and that--WHICH I believe is an utter waste of time, because the things she enumerated are supposedly free-of-charge.]
Me: 200 Pesos, and we'll call it done.
Photocopy girl: [Tries to find someone in the photocopy shop to agree with her.] No! 240 Pesos is final. That's cheap already.
Me: [Still insisting.] 220 Pesos, and ok already...[Environment becoming testy...]
Photocopy girl: [Grits teeth.] 240 Pesos.
Me: Fine~~ Although downpayment is 100 Pesos only.
--END OF STORY--
Actually, 240 Pesos is quite affordable. But I think it is a matter of business principle, is it not? You give discount, so customers will be happy. Then customers will come back for more.
I was given a discount before in the same shop. Photocopy girl is evil~~
If you were the photocopy girl, would you give me discount?
Before you answer, consider that capital in a photocopying and binding business is extremely small--AND the returns are almost 100%.
AND, without customers, there is no business.
Would you give me discount?
